<p>This is the first post in a series that will introduce to you important Romanian personalities, who shaped our culture and carried our values abroad, Romanians who gave their best to a country that is so little known be the world and at times not even appreciated at its real value. These people are the mirrors of Romania’s heart.</p>
<p>The great Romanians portrayed here were not chosen randomly. Each of them has brought a great contribution to a different field of activity: science, history, literature, sports…</p>
<p>Because this is a series, I encourage you to come back soon. I’ll write at least once a week about three great Romanians and I hope that by knowing them you’ll know more about the country I love.</p>
<p><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_gPlI54C1At0/Rm52xvsoApI/AAAAAAAAAFc/Jqn2WOl8uMQ/s1600-h/ana_aslan_.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_gPlI54C1At0/Rm52xvsoApI/AAAAAAAAAFc/Jqn2WOl8uMQ/s200/ana_aslan_.jpg" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 84px; height: 128px" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5075124427082433170" border="0" /></a>  <strong>Ana Aslan</strong>.</p>
<p>This product was used successfully by personalities such as <strong>Mao Tse Tung</strong>, <strong>Marlin Monroe</strong>, <strong>Sylvester Stalone</strong> and many others.</p>
<p>Gerovital is a famous cosmetic product, used in over forty countries around the world. even official geriatric clinics in Switzerland, USA, Germany and Romania recommend this product as the most efficient anti-aging formula.</p>
<p>The product doesn’t work wonders (there’s no “overnight” rejuvenation) but it does work. You’ll not see too many TV commercial spots either. In life Ana Aslan kept a low profile. She was a wonderful woman: modest and dedicated to her work. More information about the scientist and the products you could use to treat your skin on the <a href="http://www.gerovital-online.com/anaaslan.php">official Gerovital website</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_gPlI54C1At0/Rm521PsoAqI/AAAAAAAAAFk/PwpaRzFuPvI/s1600-h/1coanda.gif" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_gPlI54C1At0/Rm521PsoAqI/AAAAAAAAAFk/PwpaRzFuPvI/s200/1coanda.gif" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 84px; height: 130px" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5075124487211975330" border="0" /></a><strong>Henri Coanda</strong> is the father of the jet powered aircrafts. He invented the first plan to fly without propellers, which had its first and only flight in October 1910.</p>
<p>This was 30 years before the works of Heinkle, Campini and Whittle who were erroneously considered the fathers of jet flights.</p>
<p>Coanda’s work was recognized in 1956 at a conference in New York. Follow <a href="http://www.rexresearch.com/coanda/1coanda.htm">this link</a> to learn more about Coanda’s revolutionary invention.</p>
<p><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_gPlI54C1At0/Rm524fsoArI/AAAAAAAAAFs/rZzOF8o9GgI/s1600-h/george-palade.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_gPlI54C1At0/Rm524fsoArI/AAAAAAAAAFs/rZzOF8o9GgI/s200/george-palade.jpg" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 84px; height: 99px" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5075124543046550194" border="0" /></a> <strong>George Emil Palade</strong> is the only Romanian to ever <strong>win the Nobel prize (in 1974)</strong>.</p>
<p>As a matter of fact he had to share the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize_in_Physiology_or_Medicine" title="Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine">Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine</a> with Albert Claude and Christian de Duve. He was born in Iasi, Romania.</p>
<p>You can <a href="http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/medicine/laureates/1974/palade-autobio.html">read his autobiography at nobelprize.org</a>.</p>
