Mirrors of Romanian Heart

This is the first post in a series that will introduce to you important Romanian personalities, who shaped our culture and carried our values abroad, Romanians who gave their best to a country that is so little known be the world and at times not even appreciated at its real value. These people are the mirrors of Romania’s heart.

The great Romanians portrayed here were not chosen randomly. Each of them has brought a great contribution to a different field of activity: science, history, literature, sports…

Because this is a series, I encourage you to come back soon. I’ll write at least once a week about three great Romanians and I hope that by knowing them you’ll know more about the country I love.

Ana Aslan.

This product was used successfully by personalities such as Mao Tse Tung, Marlin Monroe, Sylvester Stalone and many others.

Gerovital is a famous cosmetic product, used in over forty countries around the world. even official geriatric clinics in Switzerland, USA, Germany and Romania recommend this product as the most efficient anti-aging formula.

The product doesn’t work wonders (there’s no “overnight” rejuvenation) but it does work. You’ll not see too many TV commercial spots either. In life Ana Aslan kept a low profile. She was a wonderful woman: modest and dedicated to her work. More information about the scientist and the products you could use to treat your skin on the official Gerovital website.

Henri Coanda is the father of the jet powered aircrafts. He invented the first plan to fly without propellers, which had its first and only flight in October 1910.

This was 30 years before the works of Heinkle, Campini and Whittle who were erroneously considered the fathers of jet flights.

Coanda’s work was recognized in 1956 at a conference in New York. Follow this link to learn more about Coanda’s revolutionary invention.

George Emil Palade is the only Romanian to ever win the Nobel prize (in 1974).

As a matter of fact he had to share the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Albert Claude and Christian de Duve. He was born in Iasi, Romania.

You can read his autobiography at nobelprize.org.
